Angel Reese seems to have tucked her head back into her shell in the last two games of this ongoing Finals. The fierce and sassy baller who became a significant obstacle for the Valkyries in their pathway to the title win has performed poorly in Game 4 and Game 5.
With Reese churning out disastrous numbers, the Dream flunked as a franchise and now need a massive miracle if they hope to stay in the game tomorrow. Those who are keenly observing Reese’s body-language and tone might have noticed how her words and her reasoning have changed game after game.
The once arrogant and aggressive Reese seems to be no more. After Game 5, Angel did not share much of an optimistic take when compared to her previous pressers, but instead decided to blame the refs for not making the right calls.
“A lot of us are getting fouled, and they’re not calling it…” Angel Reese said.
This is not the Angel Reese I personally want to see in the Finals or any other game for that matter. It is clear that Reese did not expect the Valkyries to set up Kiah Stokes as a singular opponent with the full intention of taking her down. And, the Dream icon still seems to be rattled after Stokes’ limited her performance to mere single digits in Game 4 and Game 5.
If Angel Reese and Atlanta as a unit want to overcome the Valkyries tomorrow, their star hooper will first need to get rid of the ‘lame-excuse’ mindset. Reese has proven herself to be strong enough to take down any powerful opponent in the past and she will need to lean into this mental muscle memory to help her tomorrow at State Farm Arena.
Angel Reese Needs To Listen To Teresa Weatherspoon Before Game 6

Angel Reese also needs to change up her strategy if she wants to get around Kiah Stokes in Game 6. Reese’s former coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, recently shared her suggestions for Bayou Barbie, advising her to get “on the move a little bit more.”
Weatherspoon remarked that Stokes is a “shot blocker” and this requires Angel Reese to play slightly differently to get around the Valkyries center. Reese has created a reputation of performing from a single spot, which Golden State has taken note of. In the upcoming game, fans will be hoping to see if Angel can really “move it, move it”, and continue proving her haters wrong.
