Natalie Nakase

Natalie Nakase is leaning on a secret weapon for the first two games of the finals against the Atlanta Dream, i.e. Ballhalla. The Golden State head coach was recently asked about how she wants Valkyries fans to support the players and Nakase did not hold back.

Instead of merely asking the fans to support her girls while also being respectful of the opponents, Nakase raised eyebrows when she said that she wants the fans at Ballhalla to go all out and diss the Dream players. In fact, she even used the term ‘hostility’ which is slightly alarming, especially considering how arrogant and classless certain WNBA fan-bases behave currently.

“You guys know, since we’re prepping for a great gameplan, Ballhalla better be prepping a gameplan. As soon as they’re announced, I need some hostility. As soon as, if they do challenge, I need some hostility. If they shoot free throws, I need that game to be rocking. So, gameplan, Ballhalla. Get ready, get prepped. Because we definitely need to use Ballhalla as our sixth man.” Natalie Nakase said.

Rather than solely depending on the talent of her players, Natalie Nakase wants to tap in to the power of the Ballhalla fans. This can only mean one thing for Atlanta – that Dream players better have a set of earplugs at hand for the finals this weekend.

While this indicates that the finals are going to be absurdly popping this time, it also means that the Dream players need to be ready to face all sorts of insults, mockery, trolling, weird gestures and more thrown at them during the games. Ballhalla will be perhaps their biggest enemy and Atlanta will need all the mental strength they can get to keep their eyes on the prize, without being distracted by the goons on the stands.

Natalie Nakase’s Valkyries Has History On Their Side

Indiana Fever at Golden State Valkyries

Natalie Nakase and the Valkyries have been stunning fans all season long, making it to the finals in just their second year in the league. The Golden State franchise also seems to have more odds stacked in their favor, mainly as a result of their history against the Dream.

The Valkyries have emerged as winners in all the three games against Atlanta during the regular season, which gives them the upper hand here. But, the Dream team has just as much to prove on the court as the Valkyries and will do everything in their power to grab the title. With both teams raring to go, this finals series is sure to be one for the books.
