A’ja Wilson is honestly one of the best players in the W right now, and I’ve been impressed repeatedly by what she has been able to do on the court. What amazes me the most about Wilson is that the Aces star is always hungry. It is pretty rare to see a player go on to shatter records season after season, like it’s a walk in the park for her.
This is why Wilson’s recent confrontation with a fan during the Fever matchup got me confused. Wilson could be seen walking up to a male Fever who was pointing at her and mocking her after she had a collision with Sophie Cunningham. Wilson had to be restrained as the baller was really seething at the fan, clearly angered by his actions.
Fans mocking Wilson is nothing new, since the hooper has always been in the limelight. The question here arises as to why Wilson did something like this in the first place. Some are also wondering whether the baller is actually not capable of handling a little pressure and criticism from fans.
Meanwhile, some others are also questioning if Wilson decided to play around the rules since wins come so easily to her. Wilson admitted during the presser that she felt that her actions were justified, and that she did not like that the fan stepped toward her and pointed at her.
“I don’t really get into the bulls—. I try to play my game. But if I’m just walking and I just got the foul, I’m chilling. If I see a man coming at me, taking steps toward me and pointing at me. I don’t give a damn what you said. I don’t give a damn how you said, the tone. That is unacceptable,” A’ja Wilson said.
Nevertheless, A’ja Wilson’s reaction, or overreaction was undoubtedly a lesson for aspiring professional athletes need to learn right from the get-go. Playing in front of an audience will always bring criticism, pin-pointing and mockery. But, those who keep their cool no matter what get to win the trophy at the end of the day.
A’ja Wilson & Aces Will Meet Fever In Nail-Biting Game 3

A’ja Wilson will need to put the sourness of the confrontation with the fan behind her as soon as possible and focus on Game 3 against the Fever. After giving Caitlin Clark and her girls a run for their money in the playoff-opener, the Aces failed to put up a win in the subsequent matchup.
This means that the two teams will be facing each other once more in an absolutely nail-biting series. Clark will be desperate to drive the Fever to a title win, with no such wins in her bag ever. Wilson already has three title wins, but as I said before, the baller is known to be ravenous when it comes to winning and setting records and it would be no surprise if she gets her ticket to the semi-finals tomorrow.
