Paige Bueckers

Ah, Paige Bueckers! I truly love me some Paige Buckets, with the young phenomenon smashing records like there’s no tomorrow ever since she entered the W. I know that the Wings are out of the playoffs, so, why I am I talking about Bueckers at this point?

I am doing this to highlight the incredible values that I hope all of my readers learn from this young star. Not everyone might like Paige Bueckers, with the baller having amassed a large number of haters in and outside the league. Still, there’s no denying the fact that Bueckers loves basketball and will do anything for her team.

If you’re going to ask me about a player who puts her team first over herself, I would choose Bueckers as a strong example. This is what Paige said after the Wings defeated the Valkyries in Game 2 of their series.

“I don’t want to actually die out there, but I want to feel like I’m dead after the game. Just everything I have, everything we have as a team, just unconditional gratitude for the journey that we’ve been on. And just a fire and a passion and a will and a belief for what’s ahead to see.” Paige Bueckers said after declaring that she would readily give her  “heart” and her “body” for the Wings in the playoffs.

“A belief for what’s ahead” – I love this phrasing! Paige Bueckers had already decided to see ahead of the first round of the playoffs, even though the series with Golden State was tied. She might not have known that the next game would end in her and Dallas being eliminated from the post-season run, but her words indicate that she definitely did not have an ounce of doubt in herself or her team.

If you have not been following the WNBA or Bueckers, I suggest that you keep track of this gal. Bueckers’ commitment to her team is super-impressive, something that is quite rarely seen among highly talented players today.

Paige Bueckers’ Emotions Run Deep After Postseason Exit

Paige Bueckers is known for being pretty upbeat and aggressive most of the time, which made her post-defeat presser quite hard to watch. The Wings icon could not help but cry openly when asked about the loss, which goes to show just how much she wanted to win.

Even though she was badly hurting at the time, Bueckers did not hesitate to give Arike Ogunbowale her flowers for essentially rescuing her with her 30 points. Bueckers did not have a great night personally, with just 17 in her bag, but her teammate’s actions show that the team-spirit runs strong in the Wings roster with each player looking out for the other.
