Caitlin Clark has once again failed to get her hands on a title win. Clark and the Fever were thrown out of the playoffs by A’ja Wilson and the Aces. For Clark, the pain is quite unimaginable, considering that she is often labeled as the ‘face of the WNBA.’
Unfortunately, the ‘face of the WNBA’ has never managed to win a single title, even in her NCAA days. This last game against Las Vegas initially saw Clark and her girls handling the game like a breeze, with the ladies clearly trying to show the opponents that they were having a good time on the court, laughing, dancing and whatnot. It was only when the pressure started finally mounting that Indiana started playing like they were indeed running a fever.
The pressure did not just come by as a result of the Aces pressing down on their necks, but also because of the poor officiating. Not just the Fever but Las Vegas too complained about the bad officiating after the win.
For Caitlin Clark, this story is nothing new, considering that the baller has been forever complaining about officials in the WNBA and their poor calls. And, in her third year in the league with no championship wins in her resume, Clark would have been surely all the more frustrated with the inconsistency that the officials showed during the game.
This scenario is not just limited to the W but quite common across all sports. I’ve worked with a number of talented players whose performance was affected as a result of bad officiating. In fact, I’ve seen some players ready to throw up their hands and give up, blaming bad game officials for their careers coming to an end.
Aces Proved That Bad Officiating Doesn’t Stand In Way Of Success
While Caitlin Clark has been whining non-stop about the officiating ever since she stepped foot into the league, other teams and players seem to have thrived regardless. Game 3 of the series between the Fever and the Aces saw Las Vegas too struggle to find their rhythm because of the frequent calls.

Every baller only knows how important it is for a game to find its rhythm and frequent disruptions can affect the overall momentum. Despite this, A’ja Wilson managed to etch an impressive 36 on the board, leading her girls to the win.
Haters might say that the officials were targeting Clark and the Fever specifically throughout the game, but for a Sport Psychologist, this game only emphasizes the importance of mental toughness and ambition in the face of uncontrollable factors.
